Appointments

Surgery appointments may be made by calling into the surgery or by telephoning
546 3867, there are times when the line may be very busy - please be patient.

Routine appointments available within 2 working days. Urgent cases will be seen as "fit ins" if necessary. This means that urgent cases are slotted into fully booked surgeries, this may cause some disruption, we would ask patients to be mindful of this.

Telephone Consultations

Many problems can be sorted by telephone without face-to face contact with the doctor. Advice can be given and prescriptions issued, if appropriate, saving valuable time for both you and your doctor. If you would like to speak to a doctor about a non-urgent problem, please request a telephone consultation.

Contacting the GP Outside of Surgery Hours

If you need an urgent visit or advice outside of normal surgery hours please telephone the normal surgery number 0151 546 3867 and you will be given details for the out of hours service. You will then be offered telephone advice by a doctor/nurse or an appointment to attend a special GP out of hours centre, or a home visit as appropriate. The Out of Hours service is operated by NHS 111.

Results

Please contact the surgery between 11:30 and 12:00 for results of tests, allowing 5 to 7 working days following submission of specimen or as instructed by the doctor or practice nurse. The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of the results or they are not capable of understanding the results.

Home Visits

Home visits should only be requested when getting to surgery is not possible because of ill health. House calls do not replace surgery appointments. All requests for home visits should be made before 10.00am. These visits will be done after morning surgery.

Emergency visits only, will be done during the rest of the day. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls.
